We’re looking for a part-time Bilingual Therapeutic Visit Specialist to join our Nassau Supervised Visitation Program and help families rebuild and reconnect.

Your Mission:
As a Therapeutic Visit Specialist, you'll use your expertise in mental health, family dynamics, and court systems to provide therapeutic supervised visits for families referred by Family Treatment Court. Your work will focus on strengthening the bond between parents and children, facilitating healing conversations, and helping families access resources to support their needs.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Conduct Family Intake: Interview and screen families referred by Family Treatment Court for therapeutic supervised visits.
  • Provide Therapeutic Supervision: Oversee visits, both in-office and community-based, to ensure safety and emotional support for families.
  • Lead Pre- and Post-Visit Meetings: Facilitate discussions before and after visits, intervening and educating parents on positive parenting techniques.
  • Offer Parenting Support: Assist parents with workshops and skill-building exercises, helping them create healthy environments for their children.
  • Document and Report: Write detailed case notes and submit court reports weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly as required by the Family Treatment Court.
  • Collaborate with Partners: Work closely with DSS, CPS, foster parents, and other professionals to coordinate and schedule visits.
  • Assist with Program Administration: Support the Program Director with reports, scheduling, and maintaining program statistics.
  • Stay Current in Your Field: Attend trainings to learn the latest therapeutic practices and research in family treatment.

 

What we are looking for:

  • Master’s Degree: In Social Work (LMSW) or Psychology (LMHP) with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in supervised visitation or 3 years working with families.
  • Knowledge: Expertise in mental health, child/family dynamics, and the court system.
  • Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication in both English and Spanish.
  • Crisis Management: Ability to handle emergency situations with professionalism and empathy.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office, database systems, and related technology for documentation.
  • Valid Driver’s License: You’ll need access to a vehicle to transport clients when necessary.
