Qualifications:
- Required Education: Degreed as a medical physician and licensed to practice medicine in the State of Texas and Board Certified or eligible in Psychiatry.
Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of the principles, techniques, and practices of psychiatry.
- Knowledge of methods and procedures used in diagnosing and treating psychiatric disorders.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice trends and developments in the field of psychiatry and public mental health programs.
- Knowledge of legal, accreditation, and certification requirements for psychiatric practice and documentation.
- Knowledge of current social and economic problems as they relate to general and psychiatric program planning.
- Ability to make accurate diagnoses of complex psychiatric problems and to select and apply a variety of treatment methods.
- Ability to analyze and evaluate the practice, techniques, and treatment procedures employed in psychiatry for need and effectiveness.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with patients and their family members, employees, and mental health professionals.
- Serve as an interdisciplinary team leader.
- Demonstrate superior leadership and managerial oversight.
- Serve on hospital committees as required.
- Take accountability for compliance with Federal, State and Joint Commission guidelines.
- Demonstrate effective communication.
- Works effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Additional Requirements:
- Must pass a pre-hire drug screen and criminal background check.
- Must have a Texas driver's license and be insurable under the Agency's insurance.
