  • Drives IDEA to Action platform by engaging in committees, events, training and other initiatives as needed.

Administration (60% of workload)

  • Supports the planning and implementation of all Education programs including student matinees, Chicago Shakespeare Slam, Bard Core, teacher workshops, and teacher handbooks.
  • Manages daily phone and email contact with partner teachers including completing reservation contracts, processing payments, and special requests.
  • Maintain daily contact management records on teachers and schools utilizing organization-wide Tessitura database.
  • Manage department calendar.
  • Maintain PD records in compliance with ISBE and CPS.

 

Program Coordination (20% of workload)

  • Recruit teachers for Bard Core and Teacher Workshops.
  • Coordinates event logistics for Education programs on-site and off-site.
  • Serves as an advocate for the learning programs and constituencies throughout the organization and in the community, demonstrating a capacity to articulate the education philosophy and IDEA objectives on which the department’s work is based.

 

Cross-Department Support (20% of workload):

  • Support the Associate Director of Education and Marketing & Communications team to manage the copy, schedule, and launch of online and printed program materials.
  • Provides data tracking and evaluation information for Development efforts.
  • All other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Part-time, temporary position, early March through late August 2025
  • Monday through Thursday, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • Some Saturdays and some evening hours when education programs are scheduled.
  • Worksite is primarily at the CST facilities on Navy Pier in Chicago, IL but will at times work in other locations such as the Chicago area schools, City Parks, and other off-site performance venues.
  • May be required to wear PPE during work activities.

 

PHYSICAL DEMAND

  • Ability to load and unload 25-lb bins that hold snacks, workshop materials, props, etc.
  • Ability to set up registration tables for workshops. 
  • Ability to remain stationary 50% of the time (at desk or registration table).

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree and three years of work experience, or at least four years of related work experience.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Project management experience.
  • Proven attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with multiple software and database programs; advanced proficiency with Windows Office suite essential.
  • Strong presentational skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve on the job.

 

ADDITIONAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE   

  • Ability to research and write effectively for variety of audiences is highly desirable.
  • Tessitura software and HTML software preferred.
  • Illinois Driver’s License preferred.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.
