What You Will Do:

As the Facilties Assistant, you will ensure guest comfort and safety through the performance of building maintenance and custodial duties at our beautiful campus in Olympic National Park.

Your primary job will be to:

  • Participate in building maintenance such as cleaning roofs, gutters, painting. 
  • Perform cyclic maintenance such as changing heater filters and checking fire safety equipment using established checklists.
  • Perform grounds maintenance such as mowing, raking, digging and snow removal.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment. Alert Facilities Director and/or Campus Director to any hazards immediately.  
  • Wear NatureBridge branded apparel so that campus visitors know you represent the organization
  • Consistently treat staff, program participants, National Park Service staff and other visitors with courtesy and respect. 
  • Perform physical tasks such as moving equipment, supplies and furniture. 
  • Perform cleaning such as sweeping, mopping, restroom cleaning and cabin turnovers using established checklists.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Compensation:

  • $20-21/hour
  • Medical, dental and vision insurance

Qualifications

Who You Are:

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and consistently to high standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a team under sometimes challenging conditions.
  • Able to adapt and pivot when unexpected events cause a change in work priorities. 
  • Willing and able to work in cramped, muddy conditions such as under buildings or in the rain.
  • Able to safely work on ladders and roofs.
  • Must be willing and available to work weekends as needed. 
  • Expected to acquire a county food handler’s card upon hire.
  • Previous experience working in the maintenance or property caretaker field is a plus. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion in the workplace.
