Position Summary: The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner performs evaluations and plans treatment programs for patients. They will provide direct patient care and assist Physicians with procedures when needed.
Essential Functions include but are not limited to:
- Ability to function as a first assistant or as an additional assistant to the surgeon
- Demonstrates knowledge of common positions including types of necessary equipment
- Ability to utilize the appropriate suturing technique as indicated by the surgeon.
- Ability to apply and remove dressings, bandages, splints, and orthopedic casts.
- Provides in-service and consultation to nursing staff
- Performs history and physical examinations and documents in the patient medical record (H&P examination)
- May write progress notes and orders to be countersigned by the physician.
- Examination and treatment of injuries.
- Good interpersonal skills in establishing effective working relations with staff.
- Ability to effectively train new staff members.
- Handling & protecting patient information.
- Promotes internal and external customer satisfaction.
- Builds and promotes a culture of service excellence and continuous improvement.
- Attendance: works as scheduled and is compliant with Attendance and Tardiness Policy.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
