Schedule is: 5 days per week at 9:30am to 1:30pm

Knowledge of:
Children’s behavior and characteristics; acceptable methods used in maintaining students in lunch/recess situations. Activities planning. Basic concepts of child growth and development, and developmental behavior characteristics; student behavior management strategies and techniques; basic subjects including arithmetic, grammar, spelling, and reading; any subject area required for specific position.
Ability to:
Learn and enforce school rules and safety regulations; recognize and report danger to students or school property; deal firmly, tactfully, respectfully and effectively with students; interact with parents in a positive manner; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; work cooperatively with others; appreciate human diversity; project voice and communicate effectively with others; move rapidly and freely about the entire campus throughout the work shift; stand and monitor children on the playground for one to two hours, assist injured students.
Demonstrate an understanding, patient, and receptive attitude toward students of varied age groups; utilize a variety of instructional materials and procedures to enhance a positive educational environment; perform routine clerical tasks and operate a variety of educational and office related machines and equipment.
Demonstrate good interpersonal skills; conduct and/or coordinate activities; work collaboratively with both internal and external organizations; establish and maintain effective organization, community, and public relationships; comply with the school’s customer services standards.

Environment: Work is performed while patrolling and monitoring campus, mostly outdoors.
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to stand and/or walk on a campus in various weather conditions; to climb stairs; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. Functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in a classroom setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
