Position: Student Assistant- Financial Lit Coach
Status: Part-time/ 5-10 hours per week (Temporary/seasonal (Spring Term 2 to Fall Term 1)
Reports to: Erica Dominguez
General Description: The STARS (Success in Transfer & Retention for Students) Project's mission is to provide wrap around support to undergraduate students in their pursuit of a bachelor's degree at NDNU. Financial Lit Coaches are tasked with the opportunity to train and advocate for financial literacy initiatives, and provide outreach support to undergraduate students. The STARS Financial Lit Coaches empower students to identify personal finance goals, and provide technical support to campus resources and financial literacy tools. This is a remote-friendly position.
Specific Responsibilities/Duties:
- Meet with assigned students on a regular basis (typically weekly) and maintain goal-setting progress.
- Serve as a peer liaison and refers students to appropriate campus resources or financial literacy tools
- Attend, support, and co-facilitate student-led workshops, either on-campus and/or recorded webinars.
- Attend all training sessions throughout the academic year, virtually. Training date/time details will be given upon hire.
- Represent the STARS project and student programs; serve on panels and provide outreach services for the STARS Project, either in-person and/or virtually.
- Complete all appropriate paperwork and reports required.
- Other duties assigned in support of the STARS project's mission and goals.
Qualifications:
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude
- Graduate-level student at NDNU preferred
- Have previous student leadership experience
- Ability to work with diverse groups and students
- Preferably have and maintain a 3.0 GPA
- Transfer student experience preferred
