General Description: The School of Psychology at Notre Dame de Namur University seeks a student-centered and pedagogically informed full-time Non-Tenure Track Assistant/ Associate Professor of Psychology. This is a 12-month faculty position working irregular hours during the Spring, Summer, and Fall, including afternoon, evening, and occasional weekends. The position includes teaching, leadership, academic, and university service, including teaching undergraduate courses with the option of teaching graduate courses in the School of Psychology as well as academic and administrative service to the SOP and NDNU. Service includes directing SOP faculty development, including supporting faculty when teaching online and in-person courses to support academic excellence, aligning with best practices and meeting accreditation standards. Expertise in Canvas LMS and an ability to communicate well with a diverse group of School of Psychology faculty ranging in levels of familiarity with technology and various teaching pedagogies is required.
Job duties:

Teach a variety of courses within the School of Psychology and any other departments as is applicable

Collaborate with the SOP Dean on NDNU and SOP administrative tasks, including university and School service, serving on committees, engaging in writing program assessments, consulting interdepartmentally, and supporting student-led organizations.

Provide additional, tailored support for all faculty teaching in the School of Psychology, both undergraduate and graduate, by offering group and 1:1 faculty development and training opportunities that are aligned with regulations, standards and goals set by CETL, WSCUC and SOP.

Stay relevant and updated with teaching pedagogical practice in the undergraduate and graduate classroom.

Stay relevant and updated with online teaching pedagogies and Canvas LMS

Provide technical support and assistance throughout the course development and delivery process for School of Psychology Faculty teaching undergraduate and graduate courses.

Collaborate with the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) to ensure parallelism in accordance with WSCUC accreditation and standards.

Collaborate with the NDNU admissions department and transfer admissions, supporting the evaluation of prospective students for the BA Psychology Degree Completion program.

Hold high visibility in the community regarding admissions and recruiting efforts for the School of Psychology.

Attend recruiting events such as college fairs and monthly virtual information sessions in addition to meeting with prospective students if needed.

Respond to emails and admit students via Element451 and inquiries in a timely manner (within 24 hours).

Organize course cycling and coordinate offerings

Recommend for hiring and support Adjunct Faculty for the BA Psychology Degree Completion course offerings

Collaborate closely with the NDNU Registrar to support NDNU re-entry students, degree evaluations, and graduation requirements

Other administrative duties as may be assigned
Qualifications (Necessary):

Doctoral Degree (PhD or EdD)
-
Psychology background (Masters or PhD or PsyD)

Experience working in faculty leadership position/s

Experience working with Psychology Degree programs (undergraduate and/or graduate)

Experience working with and/or teaching a diverse range of undergraduate and graduate, traditional and non-traditional, first-generation, transfer, and ESL students

Expertise in online course development, pedagogy, and delivery

High level of expertise in communicating with faculty in the development / training setting

Responsiveness and flexibility to meet the Departmental and student needs of graduate and undergraduate students who work full-time and attend school during non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends.
