Why This Role Matters

As our AVP of Loan Operations, you’ll play a key part in driving the success of our lending operations and collections while ensuring we meet our strategic goals and provide exceptional service to our members. You’ll oversee critical functions like loan servicing, escrow management, collections, and loan accounting for commercial, mortgage and consumer loans, ensuring everything runs efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with regulations. As a leader, you’ll guide and support our lending support and member solutions teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, professional growth, and recognition. Your expertise will ensure we maintain the highest standards of safety and soundness while creating a positive impact for both the credit union and its members.


What You’ll Do

  • Loan Servicing Oversight: Manage all loan servicing activities, including payments, payoffs, rate adjustments, file maintenance, escrow accounts, collateral documentation, and collateral insurance tracking to ensure accurate and timely processing.
  • Collections Strategy: Oversee member solutions and collections functions, developing strategies to minimize delinquency and loan losses, maximize recoveries, and provide regular performance reporting.
  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner with AVPs and Senior Management to align lending operations with corporate strategic goals and provide cohesive direction to the team.
  • Policy and Risk Analysis: Partner with AVPs of Consumer, Mortgage, and Commercial Lending to analyze business lines, monitor credit policy changes, and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all lending operations comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Policy Development and Training: Recommend updates to lending policies, oversee procedure development, and manage training and communication of changes ensuring compliance and operational excellence.
  • Budget and Operational Efficiency: Set and manage the lending operations budget, while continually evaluating and enhancing process efficiencies.

Team Collaboration: Build strong relationships across the organization to foster understanding and support of lending strategies and initiatives.

Qualifications

Who You Are

Experience & Education

  • 7+ years of similar or related experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proven success in managing Loan Servicing or Member Solutions departments and/or functions.

  • Proven ability to guide, mentor, and develop teams across lending support and member solutions functions, fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Comprehensive understanding of lending regulations and compliance requirements, ensuring adherence to legal and organizational standards.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders, aligning operations with organizational goals.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate trends in delinquency and charge off data providing insights to align with strategic direction.

This position allows for an optional hybrid work arrangement which includes a combination of both in-office and remote work arrangements. (Maximum of one day remote, four days in-office). To be eligible for the program, employees must complete a minimum of 90 days of continuous, regular employment, be in good standing, and submit a formal hybrid work application prior to being eligible for hybrid work, pending supervisor approval. Work schedules will be established by the employee's supervisor according to business needs. Working locations and schedules may be altered at management discretion.
