QUALIFICATIONS

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Industrial Engineering Intern to join our team. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to assist in the ramp-up of a new department, focusing on improving manufacturing processes and information flow. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to work in a manufacturing environment and possess excellent problem-solving skills.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct time studies and scheduling to optimize production efficiency.
  • Focus on information flow to ensure smooth operations.
  • Design work involving jigs, tools, and carts using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Perform value stream mapping and present areas of improvement.
  • Define and improve the manufacturing process flow.
  • Provide engineering support to streamline production flow.
  • Collect and analyze data to support decision-making.
  • Assist with day-to-day production issues.
  • Provide CAD and design support for layouts, tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Assist in creating work instructions and standard operating procedures.

 

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant engineering program, preferably in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Junior or senior standing with previous intern experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for process improvement and optimization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Desire to work in a manufacturing environment, particularly in a department that cuts and forms sheet metal (crimping, welding, etc.).

 

About the Department: Our department specializes in fabrication and assembly of sheet metal parts, including processes such as shearing, pressing, crimping, press braking and spot welding. As an intern, you will gain valuable experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, contributing to the improvement of our manufacturing processes.
