Working for a world-class leader in building structures and bridges a Schuff Steel Electrician brings his/her expertise and knowledge in the field of electrical maintenance to install electrical power and to provide preventative maintenance on heavy machinery and facility equipment. Critical to the production process this position repairs and maintains heavy fabrication equipment. Performing necessary maintenance and repairs to various machines within the facility. The electrician utilizes a high degree of proficiency while utilizing full skills of the trade including knowledge of commercial electrical codes. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily.

Core Responsibilities
- Able to provide support for new equipment.
- Provide documentation on work completed.
- Keeping an inventory of parts to minimize downtime.
- Working knowledge of repair and maintenance of Motor and Control, and Hydraulic and Pneumatics.
- Ability to analyze problems and coming up with cost-effective solutions
- Familiar with OSHA, EPA requirements, and Local codes.
- To install electrical components, provide wiring to panels, buss plugs, conductors, boxes and machinery;
- To keep building within codes and safety regulations;
- To troubleshoot and repair electrical components of machinery.
- Keeps work area organized and clean.
- Perform other routine duties per management direction.
- Must adhere to and follow all safety rules and PPE requirements
Education/Training - Work Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and 1 to 2 years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Specialized Knowledge – Certificates & Licenses
- Equipment Knowledge & Skills – may include but not limited to various shop hand tools and electrical repair equipment
- Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence, such as reports and repair orders to further provide documentation of completed tasks and future upgrades on equipment.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide into all units of measure. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent. Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
