Description

(PT or FT, Winter Seasonal Position) This is a seasonal position that is responsible for emergency medical care, stabilization and transportation of injured guests, creating a safe environment for guests and staff, and providing great guest experiences. We are looking for strong skiers who are responsible, accountable, and passionate about the outdoors. Ski Patrol requires strenuous outdoor work, in all possible weather, both independently as well as in teams in sometimes stressful situations.

Qualifications

Efficiently and safely provide direct patient care; including determining the nature of injury, equipment needed to stabilize, and transporting an injured guest. Additional duties include:

  • Provide assistance to uninjured guests in difficult situations
  • Assess and mitigate hazards and safety concerns within the resort area
  • Maintain resort area signs, ropes, and padding
  • Maintain readiness for searches, chairlift evacuation, avalanche rescue, and other situations
  • Special Events Coverage
  • Avalanche mitigation (with provided training)

  • Have good follow-through and be able to handle fast paced, potentially high-pressure environment
  • Think quickly and act appropriately in a situation or when dealing with guests' needs, to ensure safety is not compromised and a desirable outcome is achieved.
  • Understand guests' needs and gathers information in a given situation in order to solve problems and improve guest service. Know when to seek advice/ get manager.
  • Demonstrates team work by helping others, valuing other team members opinions and input and treat others with courtesy and respect

Qualifications Required:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Current National Ski Patrol Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) certification, EMT or WFR.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Demonstrate advanced to expert skiing ability and be able to safely negotiate any area of the mountain, whether chairlift or hiking access, in all weather and snow conditions.
  • Possess professional written and verbal communication skills and maintain appropriate behavior while interacting with resort guests and team members in all possible situations.
