Custodian, Shenny

Job Summary:  

The Custodian is responsible for performing cleaning duties and other miscellaneous duties in order to ensure that the Shenny building is maintained in a healthy and sanitary manner.  

Essential Job Functions:  

• Wash and disinfect all bathroom floors, toilets, sinks, fixtures, and mirrors. 

• Replenish all toilet tissue, paper towels, hand sanitizer, and hand soap, as needed. 

• Empty all waste baskets and garbage cans daily. 

• Clean outside grounds daily. 

• Clean entrance and exit including floors, glass, doors, and hardware. 

• Clean offices and conference rooms, dust all furniture and fixtures as needed. 

• Damp mop hard floor areas and vacuum all carpeted areas. 

• Clean all break rooms, office kitchen areas, sinks, and counters. 

• Clean and disinfect all water fountains. 

• Wash and scrub floors with floor scrubber. 

• Bail cardboard waste for recycling using the cardboard bailing machine. 

• Maintain storage areas and cleaning equipment, materials, and supplies. 

• Restock supplies. 

• Perform other related duties as required. 

Minimum Qualifications:  

• High School Diploma or GED 

• Must be knowledgeable of standard cleaning procedures and chemicals. 

• Ability to make decisions and solve problems. 

• Must be able to work under minimal supervision. 

• Must be flexible and demonstrate sound work ethics.  

• Possess high energy and a team attitude.   

Physical Demands:  

• The custodian is a physically demanding position. The custodian spends most of their time at work standing, walking, sweeping, and mopping floors.   

Working Conditions:  

• Temperatures can be as low as 40 degrees in some areas.  

• The noise level is moderate.
