Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and operational direction to the fabrication team.
- Have prior experience in the use, care, and proper maintenance of knives and safety equipment.
- Be non-judgmental and objective based when dealing with people and situations.
- Ability to assume a leadership role, with creative, patient, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Maintain a Good Attendance and Safety Record.
- Responsible for following and communicating the policies and procedures as defined in the employee handbook.
- Ensure that all processing activities are in conformance with product specifications.
- Balance quality, productivity, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Work to continuously improve in all areas.
- Conduct inspections, constantly monitor all work areas for cleanliness and ensure that product contamination is kept to a minimum.
- Ensure effective employee relations. Provide employee coaching and development. Assure that all employees follow company policies, procedures, and established work instructions.
- Oversee training/ cross training of assigned staff, appraise performance and initiate discipline process.
- Additional job duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 4-yrs experience in meat industry
- Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, SSOP, SOPs, USDA
- Regulatory knowledge related to processed products (i.e USDA FSIS Appendix A and Appendix B)
Qualifications:
- Experience: 5+ years related experience in a management capacity
- Meat industry experience preferred, processed products
- Food processing industry experience required
