Extended Reality (XR)/Virtual Reality (VR) Developer II

Overview

SCCI has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Extended Reality (XR)/Virtual Reality (VR) Developer II to support the Battle Management System (BMS), an innovative DoD program. If you are an innovative thinker with a background in XR/VR, have advanced knowledge and background in utilizing the Unreal game engine, and are searching for a dedicated team of professionals, this is the position for you! BMS is a dedicated team of professionals specializing in rapidly developing and deploying innovative technology solutions to support our warfighters in outmatching evolving threats. This position is located in Dahlgren, VA.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing XR and VR visualization using the latest XR/VR headsets
  • Leveraging 3D scanning systems to create and texturize realistic 3D models of real world objects and developing the shader and lighting controls
  • Utilizing the Unreal gaming engine, along with C# and Python to develop XR/VR visualizations
  • Integrating sensor outputs, other software applications, and AI/ML algorithms into XR/VR visualizations
  • Collaborating with other developers, engineers, data scientists, testers, and AI specialists within a rapid development framework

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Security Clearance
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science or field directly related to XR/VR development; Or four (4) years direct hands-on experience with Extended Reality/Virtual Reality (XR/VR) development; Or a military background with relevancy to to XR/VR development
  • Four (4) years of experience demonstrating the ability to concept, prototype, design, code, and engineer a variety of visualizations that
    can be used on mobile, desktop or VR platforms
  • Two (2) years experience working in Unreal game engine development
  • Experience in 3D model creation and texturing, in addition to shader and lighting development
  • Proficiency in C#, C++ or C, and familiar with Python
  • Ability to manage priorities while supporting multiple projects
  • Ability to integrate with external plugins and libraries
  • Familiarity with Git workflows

 

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Senior experience (5+ years) with Unreal game engine development
  • Experience working with the latest generation of headsets
