SUMMARY
The Lead Line Cook I ("Cocinero Principal de Linea") prepares all menu items in specific station with the utmost of care and respect for ingredients, technique and fellow associates. As a leader, receives direction from Chef and sets the example for all staff as to the pride and professionalism required to perform in a culinary environment of this caliber. Ensures that quality is never compromised and service never delayed enabling the best guest experience possible. Strives for excellence.

  • Compensation: Earn up to $27.50 ($25.35**/hr. DOE + an avg. of $2.15/hr via 3% outlets’ revenue kitchen appreciation bonus!) Varies per business levels paycheck to paycheck.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Maintains a clean, organized, and sanity work station.
  • Prepares and finishes dishes for the outlet, in accordance with established recipes and procedures.
  • Cooks pizza and other dishes in wood fired pizza oven.
  • Assists the outlet chef with all outlets related operational needs, including but not limited to expo work, maintenance of temp sheets, sanitation procedures, food procurement.
  • Acts as a teacher and assists other cooks in achieving goals, fostering teamwork and camaraderie.
  • Maintains the highest level of cleanliness in accordance with the Health Department, EcoSure and hotel standards.
  • Practices established safety and emergency procedures.
  • Maintains a professional attitude and appearance at all times, with a guest first mind set.
  • Rotates stock to maintain freshness and eliminate waste.
  • Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience and/or training.
  • Previous similar position in a hotel, or similar business entity preferred.
  • Ability to always maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
  • Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire. Evans Hotels will provide this training and is to be completed at the company’s expense.
  • Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq.
