Description

JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assist with the preparation and filing of the quarterly NCUA 5300 Call Report and Profile
  • Monitor and research regulatory changes affecting the NCUA 5300 Call Report and Profile or other regulatory reporting. 
  • Maintain and reconcile accounting records and ledgers.
  • Prepare entries for the completion of regular and special financial statements which may include balance sheets, profit and loss statements, CUSO reports, etc.
  • Review and verify the accuracy of general ledger entries.
  • Assist with the completion of the month end closing process.
  • Prepare other special accounting reports and analyses for management or for regulatory or other government agencies, external auditors, and regulatory examiners.
  • Make recommendations to management concerning possible methods to improve reporting and be prepared to carry out those recommendations.
  • Perform special assignments as requested by senior management and/or the Controller.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE

  • Incumbent should have an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and an understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.

 

SKILLS

  • A positive attitude that is team oriented; detail oriented; able to see the steps necessary to get things done; meets deadlines; willing to put in the necessary time to get the job done – but at the same time manages time effectively and willing to take responsibility for own actions.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills; ability to analyze financial reports.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Incumbent should possess a four-year degree in business with a major in accounting or finance.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The position requires the following physical activities within varying environmental conditions:

  • Occasionally remaining in a stationary position which may be standing or sitting for a prolonged period.
  • Occasional travel or moving from one office location to another or from one department to another at the headquarters building.
  • Occasional lifting, moving, or adjusting objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Constant communication with others through various channels including verbal, email, and chat of which the last two may require consistent use of a keyboard and mouse or another electronic device.
  • Work will be in a commercially reasonable temperature-controlled environment.
  • Occasional temporary exterior site review which could be in outdoor elements of wind, rain, or snow.
