Description

This position is responsible for defining business requirements for data integration, data analytics, business intelligence, knowledge-sharing, dashboarding and reporting. The position will lead all areas of analytics, using advanced data modeling for descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics to produce insights and identify actionable strategic opportunities that support operational excellence. The role works closely with organizational leaders to implement high-quality, data driven decision capabilities and process improvement initiatives in alignment with Midwest Transplant Network’s strategic objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Charged with driving growth and success as it relates to business intelligence.
  2. Guides designated staff toward accomplishment of MTN’s Mission and goals; including employee selection, training and development, coaching and counseling, performance review and recognition, promotional and disciplinary actions in accordance with existing policies and procedures. 
  3. Leads the Business Intelligence team in developing, collecting and presenting data necessary for operational requirements.
  4. Responsible for helping to drive the organization forward in coordination with the strategic plan and vision.
  5. Establishes and monitors industry best practices utilized within the Business Intelligence team to ensure data integrity.
  6. Collaborates with organization stakeholders to:
    1. Analyze and define data requirements needed to support business processes.
    2. Integrate data requirements throughout the data system.
    3. Develop improvement solutions for business operations.
  7. Directs and promotes data usability strategies
    1. Tracks data and information on department operations and overall organizational performance.
    2. Advances the organization’s understanding and use of data in processes, performance monitoring, and analysis.
    3. In collaboration with leadership, establishes reviews of organizational performance and provides recommendations for performance excellence.
  8. Ensures staff focused on business intelligence system design develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of applications, the data model and its mapping to various business processes.
  9. Builds and maintains positive professional working relationships with MTN leadership and staff, and external stakeholders.
  10. Regularly examines and analyzes best practices for utilizing business intelligence to enhance operations and drive advancements.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  1. Undergraduate degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Analytics, Statistics, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  2. Experience in the healthcare field strongly preferred.
  3. 6+ years of advanced experience with BI analytics solutions.
  4. A minimum of 3 years supervision of professional staff required.
  5. A basic understanding of CFR 21 Part 11 compliance requirements.
  6. Proven ability to lead a team, coordinate internal and external resources and achieve measurable results against goals.
  7. Detail oriented, organized, excellent tracking/reporting skills, effective written and verbal communication. 
  8. Strong organizational, problem analysis and decision-making skills.  Demonstrated ability to motivate peers and achieve cooperation.
  9. Microsoft Office proficiency required.
  10. Must maintain a valid driver’s license in accordance with MTN motor vehicle policy.  Must have reliable personal automobile transportation to be used with company reimbursement using IRS guidelines.  Must be able to travel within the service area by ground or air.
  11. Ability to lift 50 pounds and transfer short distances.
  12. Possess ability to operate telephones, computers and office equipment.
  13. Ability to speak and communicate clearly in order to accurately convey information in person or by phone.
  14. OSHA Category III No exposure to bloodborne pathogens while performing assigned job duties.
  15. Home internet and wireless phone access required.
