SUMMARY
Responsible for overseeing the systematic and procedural aspects of Machine Tool Division’s Technical Documentation. In this role, the Technical Documentation Coordinator works closely with Project Managers and Engineers to understand the required Documentation for Customer Orders, Preparing the Documentation for Customer Orders, Creation of Procedures and Manuals for Custom Equipment, and Internal Procedures/Control of Technical Engineering Documentation. Responsible for the administration duties for the SolidWorks and EPDM licenses.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- For Each MTD Project, Compile Necessary Assembly and Detail Engineering Drawings for all Peripheral Equipment into Manuals (Paper and Electronic Copy) for presentation to Customers after project shipping.
- Work closely with Mechanical, Electrical, and Controls System Engineers to Develop Procedural Manuals for Custom Designed Automated Equipment (Gages, Conveyors, Orientation Units, etc.) to provide to End Users.
- Develop Internal System for Backup and Storage of critical data related to Custom Designed Automated Equipment (PLC Programs, Software, GR&R Data, master certifications, etc.)
- Develop Internal System for Online Storage (through EPDM System) of all Project Related Documentation so that it is readily accessible by any Department (i.e. Service, Sales, Engineering, etc.)
- Occasionally creates basic 2D drawings (Using Draftsight , AutoCAD or SolidWorks) for Reference work (i.e. Floor Layout, Concept Sketch, etc.)
- Manage the ECR/ECN (Engineering Change Request/Notification) Process.
- Assist Engineering Group with the administration functions of the EPDM System for change control and documentation.
- Manage the administration of the SolidWorks and EPDM licenses.
- Maintain the Engineering master schedule.
- Manage the ‘Request for Technical Documentation’ process.
- Verify and correct discrepancies between Engineering Assembly Drawings and BOM created in Great Plains.
- Manage the Standard Machine Engineering Documentation for Internal Use.
- Communicates extensively internally at MMUSA with various functions (Engineering, Proposals, Project Management, and Shop Floor).
