General Summary
The ERP Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing ERP implementation project. This role involves facilitating a cross-functional project team, managing resources, setting project timelines, and ensuring successful delivery of ERP solutions that meet organizational goals. The ERP Project Manager ensures that the system is implemented on time, within scope, and on budget while addressing the needs of various stakeholders.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Project Planning and Management:
- Develop comprehensive project plan, including resource allocation, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Define project scope, objectives, and success criteria in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Monitor and report on project progress, ensuring adherence to timelines, budget, and scope.
- Allocate project resources effectively, including internal teams, external consultants, and third-party vendors.
- Lead and motivate cross-functional project team to ensure successful delivery of the project.
- Ensure proper training and knowledge transfer to end-users and support teams.
Vendor and Software Selection:
- Collaborate with the projectt team to evaluate and select the best ERP system and vendors.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, ensuring timely delivery of solutions and services.
- Oversee contracts, licenses, and service agreements with ERP vendors.
Stakeholder Communication:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including senior management, department heads, and end-users.
- Facilitate regular meetings and communication with project team members, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and addressing any concerns or risks.
Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop contingency plans and handle unexpected challenges that may arise during the project.
- Ensure that the project complies with regulatory and organizational requirements.
Implementation and Integration:
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and customization of ERP software to meet the organization's needs.
- Ensure seamless integration of the ERP system with existing business processes and systems.
- Collaborate with technical teams to manage data migration and ensure data integrity.
- Manage project team members to create standard operating procedures and associated documentation
Testing and Quality Assurance:
- Lead testing efforts, including system, user acceptance, and performance testing, to ensure the ERP system functions as expected.
- Address any issues or bugs that arise during the testing phase and ensure their resolution before going live.
Post-Implementation Support:
- Provide post-implementation support and maintenance to ensure smooth functioning of the ERP system.
- Conduct reviews and evaluations to assess project success and identify areas for improvement.
- Support future upgrades, updates, or system enhancements.
