QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent communication skills and customer service representation.
- Knowledge of principles and techniques of counseling.
- Knowledge of American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) requirements and core principles.
- Ability to gather, analyze and evaluate information pertinent to the care of clients.
- Ability to meet Agency and regulatory body standards of documentation.
- Knowledge of the physical, psychological, social and economic effects of substance abuse, homelessness, medical and mental health issues.
- Knowledge of community resources. Considerable knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding client confidentiality.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships.
- Ability to project a professional image.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Licensed alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), License Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Masters/Clinical Social Worker (LMSW/LCSW).
- Master’s degree in the behavioral sciences and two (2) years experience in counseling preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Connecticut driver's license may be required
