Recovery Network of Programs, Inc. (RNP), is a private, non-profit, social service agency which has been serving the Greater Bridgeport Community and Fairfield County area since 1972. RNP is dedicated to helping those living with substance use, mental health disorders, and homelessness. First Step (Residential Detoxification Program) This is a highly structured inpatient medically monitored detoxification program located in Bridgeport, Connecticut. This program offers individual counseling, group therapy, case management, referral services for continuing care, and medical management. First Step is a CARF accredited, DPH licensed 27 bed residential detox unit for individuals aged 18 and over struggling with addiction to alcohol, opiates and/or benzodiazepines.

 

HOURS

Monday - Tuesday & Thursday - Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm; a Saturday or Sunday every weekend 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm 

 

The Clinical Coordinator will report directly to First Step’s Director and work towards creating and maintaining a positive work environment and developing team integration with a multidisciplinary team of Physician Assistants, APRNs, Nursing Director, nurses, Recovery Coaches, and RNP’s Operational Department. The Clinical Coordinator shall provide motivation and support to First Step Clinicians by: 


•    Providing weekly Clinical Supervision to clinicians related to clinical interventions, quality of care, and client welfare.
•    Auditing client charts, in doing so, assists clinicians in areas of effective clinical documentation, treatment plans, daily SOAP Notes, Admission and Discharge Assessments, ASAM, SNAP, and Dimensions 3-6.
•    Supervise clinical staff by utilizing appropriate principles of integrated care and management techniques, including day-to-day direction, scheduling, training, crisis management, risk assessment, and evaluations. 
•    May conduct screenings, facilitate admissions, and make every effort to maintain utilization rates at 90%+.
•    Communicate and collaborate with First Step’s multidisciplinary team to manage client care on a day-to-day basis.
•    Responsible for facilitating weekly Clinical Staff Meetings and bi-weekly Clinical Group supervision.
•    Responsible for bi-weekly Clinician’s Payroll and Scheduling.
•    Responsible for managing all Clinical On-Call questions and staff call-outs.
•    Responsible for maintaining clinical charting to be audit-ready for all governing agencies such as, but not limited to internal audits, DPH, CARF, DMHAS, and ABH.
•    Assumes all other appropriate duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor.

 

Qualifications

CORE COMPETENCIES

Hold a license in related human service field (LCSW, LPC, LADC, LMFT). Minimum 3 (three) years’ experience in opiate treatment programming or similar community-based substance abuse treatment organization preferred.

  • Expertise and knowledge of best practices and protocol as it relates to managing a medically monitored withdrawal management.
  • Ability to take initiative.
  • Considerable knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations regarding client confidentiality.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships.
  • Excellent communication and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to project a professional image at all times.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES

Current State of Connecticut license in any of the following fields: Professional Counseling (LPC), Social Work (LCSW) or Drug and Alcohol Counseling (LADC) Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT). Valid Connecticut driver's license is required.
