JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the SVP, Accounting Operations, the Accounts Payable/Accounting Specialist is responsible for the accounts payable process, monthly reconciliations and bookkeeping for LifeStar Living and the properties managed by LifeStar Living. The Accounts Payable/Accounting Specialist respectfully interacts with all residents, family members, visitors, colleagues and staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Ensure all invoices are properly coded and signed and approved by the appropriate responsible party
- Ensure sales tax is not charged for goods and services provided to the Convivial not-for-profit entities
- Ensure accurate input of all invoices in the accounting software
- Maintain precise records of all vendor payments
- Monitor tax liabilities and ensure tax liabilities are paid on time
- Responsible for paying and keeping electronic record of all invoices
- Keep track of all company credit card spending and make payments on credit accounts
- Analyze all accounts on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to ensure payment accuracy
- Work collaboratively with various departments to perform accounting audits
- Prepare and mail all required sales tax documents
- Work with department heads to establish new vendors, ensuring appropriate insurance levels, background screenings, executed contracts, among other requirements.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations, including cash, investment, bond funds, AP, prepaids
- Assist with period-end closings, preparing monthly general journal entries, running reports, and assembling electronic closing packages by entity
- Assist with annual budget preparation for Communities and LifeStar
- Maintain written instructions for performing duties assigned to this position.
