Position Summary:

As a Store Generalist at Uwajimaya, you’ll be a key part of our dynamic retail team, supporting various departments and ensuring an exceptional shopping experience for our customers. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety in their work—one day, you might be assisting in grocery or produce, and the next, you could be setting up an engaging product demonstration. You'll receive structured training in multiple departments, gaining valuable retail experience while contributing to store-wide initiatives and events. Schedule & Work Hours:

• Standard shift: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM

• Earliest start time: 10:00 AM | Latest start time: 12:00 PM

• Full-time: 30–40 hours per week (based on availability).

• Part-time: 4–24 hours per week (based on availability).

The primary working hours will generally fall within this time frame, but flexibility may be required based on business needs. Specific schedules may vary depending on store events and departmental demands.

Position's Key Responsibilities:

• Assist different store departments as needed, ensuring shelves are stocked, products are displayed properly, and customers receive excellent service.

• Conduct engaging vendor demos, non-cooking demos, and cooking demos to educate and excite customers about new products.

• Provide friendly and helpful service, answering product-related questions and guiding customers to the right sections of the store.

• Participate in store-wide projects, promotions, and cultural events that make Uwajimaya a special place to shop.

• Receive hands-on training in multiple areas, with the opportunity to apply for specialized roles after gaining experience.

• Be flexible and adaptable to the store’s needs, ensuring smooth operations and a great shopping experience for all.

Starting at $21.00/hr., Depending on Experience.

Position Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old.

• Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent.

• Prior retail experience and knowledge of Asian products, preferred.

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

• Basic math proficiency, familiarity with ten-key/calculator, and comfortable using computers.

• Flexible schedule to accommodate varying shifts.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and proactively work independently.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
