POSITION SUMMARY:

The Financial Access Counselor will focus on reviewing financial aid files for accuracy and completeness and counsel students and families on all aspects of the financial aid and payment process. This position will work closely with colleagues to foster a professional, knowledgeable, and welcoming environment for all BAC constituents. They work closely with the Admissions Department to onboard new students.
This is a full-time exempt position of 40 hours per week, reporting to the Director of Financial Access and a member of the Office of Student Services.

PRIMARY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Provide proactive, professional, and friendly service in all interactions.
· Review incoming financial aid files for accuracy and completeness.
· Counsel students and families on all aspects of the financial aid process.
· Process communications including award letters and missing information notices.
· Assist in awarding federal, state, and institutional aid using the federal methodology.
· Assist in disbursement of federal, state, private and institutional financial aid.
· Coordinate the federal work study program with oversight from the Director.
· Oversee and coordinate the awarding of internal scholarship and awards.
· Act as next level support for the Student Advocates in manners related to financial aid, providing detailed and proactive counseling to students in need.
· Stay current on federal regulations related to financial aid.

Work Schedule requirements:
· This is a hybrid position. Up to 2 days a week in person will be required. Days in the office may vary depending on the time of year and the needs of the office.
· Must be able to work flexible hours in accordance with the academic season.
SALARY: $48,000 to $58,000
