The Manufacturing Technician is responsible for fabricating, trimming, and finishing composite aircraft components and assemblies. They perform work to engineering drawings and specifications and their work is frequently inspected for quality. Uses product specifications, blueprints, diagrams, work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOP) to produce product.
What you will do:
Key Responsibilities include: Tech I
• Use hands to cut, place, and manipulate composite materials such as carbon fiber and fiberglass.
• Use hand tools to sand, trim, and drill cured composite structures.
• Use common measuring and inspection devices to ensure components are made to exact specifications.
• Clean and inspect production tooling to validate they are acceptable for use.
• Apply body filler products.
• Knowledge of cleaning, prepping, and releasing molds
• Using a high attention to detail, sand, and shape surfaces to prepare them for primer and painting operations.
• Utilize FOD prevention techniques on a continual basis.
• Complete checklists of own work and check other’s work as necessary.
• Comply with all company policies on safe work practices.
• Frequently work while walking, sitting, standing, climbing, kneeling, bending, crouching, laying, and reaching
.
Key Responsibilities include: Mid-level Tech II
• The Manufacturing Tech II works without close supervision, completing daily tasks based on daily production schedule assigned by the area lead.
• Assist with new hires in developing and training of the specific area you are in.
• Knowledge of the area you are assigned to work, can assist with sharing job knowledge
• Demonstrate precision trimming, sanding, and drilling skills based on drawings and work instructions
• Able to clean, prep and release molds without supervision.
Key Responsibilities include: Senior Tech III
• Complete checklists of own work and check other’s work as necessary.
• Demonstrates the ability to train/develop and coach other team members
• Full knowledge of composites and/or body & paint
• Ability to fill in as lead of any department as needed
• Able to perform lead responsibilities when required
• Strong interpersonal skills that support working in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities include: Lead Tech IV
• Has gained full proficiency in a broad range of activities related to the job.
• Monitor output for quality and conformance of every part manufactured in his/her assigned area.
• Supervise/lead 3-8 production Technicians
• Works closely with the production supervisor to ensure production schedule is met, staff is trained, paperwork is submitted correctly.
• Weekly staff meeting, discussing safety, production, and quality.
