PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:
The Assistant Coach will be responsible for the assistant coaching duties of the program. Most often this will include assistance in all areas of program administration including but not limited to recruiting, practice planning, practice support, scouting, video breakdown, film exchange, social media, fundraising, event management and administrative duties.

  1. Maintain a high level of professionalism on and off of the field toward student athletes, other coaches, parents, administrators, and members of the community 
  2. Able to develop and maintain collaborative relationships, engage in creative problem-solving, and extend enlightened hospitality when working with others
  3. Passion and motivation to recruit student-athletes
  4. Possess an outcomes-oriented approach to coaching

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Game/Practice Planning
  2. Skills/position coach
  3. Recruiting coordination and planning
  4. Recruiting
  5. Administrative duties (e.g., Travel/meal planning, office coverage)
  6. Fundraising and alumni engagement
  7. Video coordinator and film exchange
  8. Scouting

MARGINAL DUTIES:

  1. Complete other duties as assigned by the head coach.

Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITIES: 

  1. Bachelor’s degree preferred 
  2. Intercultural competency; ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds
  3. Valid driver’s license and evidence of insurability, required
  4. Strong oral and written communication skills

ERGONOMIC REQUIREMENTS: 

  1. Sitting, standing, bending, reaching and lifting in a moderate athletic environment.
  2. Sufficient mobility to independently negotiate the University Campus.

HOURS:

Part-time, hours vary. Requires night and weekend hours. Travel is required.  


QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

  1. Coaching experience at the high school, collegiate or professional level. 
  2. Knowledge of NCAA rules 
  3. Recruiting experience at the collegiate level, Division III, preferred
  4. First Aid and AED certification, preferred
