Job Scope
Primary responsibilities include teaching courses as prescribed by the Collective Bargaining Agreement. May be assigned to teach online or virtual modalities and at any College location. Other professional responsibilities include implementing approved and/or current curriculum development, staying current in the discipline through involvement in professional development activities, and otherwise supporting the mission of the College by engaging in service activities.
Essential Job Responsibilities
1. Teaches the assigned courses in qualified discipline(s) per the published course schedule.
2. Participates in curriculum development and evaluation and/or updates including course assessment activities.
3. Provides academic support to students.
4. Maintains a schedule of office hours and communicates expectations and progress to students.
5. Documents student progress by the timely submission of appropriate records and reports.
6. Participates in college governance by serving on Faculty Senate, division, and College committees as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.
7. Participates in the hiring, and course orientation of new faculty through participation on assigned search committees.
8. Develops and maintains relationships with community and regional stakeholders including Program Advisory Committee members and regional employers, as appropriate.
9. Participates in college and community service activities.
10. Participates in professional growth activities and maintains awareness of new trends and developments within areas of instructional responsibility.
11. Selects textbooks and supplementary materials (software, etc.) appropriate to the needs of students and course requirements.
12. Attendance at all mandatory meetings.
