COMPENSATION RANGE: $5.00 per hour


 

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday- Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm lunch break is from 12pm - 1pm


 

ACCOUNTABLE TO: Chief Operations Officer, Chief Operations Officer


 

ACCOUNTABLE FOR: Assisting clients with improving their credit scores, resolving disputes with credit reporting agencies, and providing financial guidance


 

ANTICIPATED TRAVEL: 0% of the time.


 

SUMMARY OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: The Credit Repair Specialist is responsible for assisting clients in improving their credit profiles by analyzing credit reports, identifying inaccuracies, and developing strategies to dispute negative items. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, an understanding of credit laws, and a passion for helping individuals achieve financial stability.

 

SCHEDULED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Credit Report Analysis: Review and assess clients' credit reports from the major credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax, TransUnion) to identify inaccuracies, outdated information, or unverifiable negative items.

 

  • Credit Dispute Process: Initiate, track, and manage disputes with credit bureaus and creditors on behalf of clients to remove incorrect or unfairly reported items such as late payments, charge-offs, collections, or bankruptcies.

 

  • Client Consultations: Conduct one-on-one consultations with clients to discuss their credit reports, explain the repair process, and provide personalized credit improvement strategies.

 

  • Monitoring Credit Progress: Provide clients with regular updates on their progress and offer guidance on improving their financial habits to enhance credit scores.

 

  • Client Education: Educate clients on credit best practices, debt management, and financial responsibility to help them maintain good credit scores in the future.

 

  • Compliance with Laws: Ensure all credit repair activities comply with federal and state laws, particularly the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and the Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA).

 

  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of client interactions, disputes, credit reports, and progress updates. Prepare detailed reports on client performance and resolution of credit disputes.

 

  • Customer Support: Respond to client inquiries promptly via phone, email, or in-person meetings, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.


 

UNSCHEDULED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Assist clients in urgent or unforeseen credit-related issues.
  • Provide support for special projects related to credit education or financial literacy programs.
  • Act as a backup for other team members during peak periods or staff shortages.
  • Participate in training sessions or continuing education to stay informed on credit laws and regulations.


 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.

Qualifications

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: 

  • Strong understanding of credit reports, FICO scoring models, and credit repair laws (FCRA, FDCPA).
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in credit repair software and tools.
  • Analytical skills with attention to detail for reviewing credit reports.

 

LEVEL OF EDUCATION / TRAINING / QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED required; some college coursework in finance, business, or a related field preferred.
  • Certification in credit repair or financial counseling is a plus (e.g., Certified Credit Counselor).
  • 1 year experience in credit repair (preferred), financial services, or a related field.
