ACCOUNTABLE TO: Chief Operations Officer

 

ACCOUNTABLE FOR: assigned counselors, therapists, nurses, entitlement case managers and nurse practitioners

 

CLASSIFICATION: Full-time 40 hours per week. OT Exempt due to Professional Employee Classification. W-2.

 

WORK SCHEDULE: work at assigned location Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (see daily task log of typical work schedule below)

 

COMPENSATION RANGE: Compensation ranges between $25.00 - $40.00 per hour; and is commensurate upon experience, expertise, company budget, and verified credentials.  

 

ANTICIPATED TRAVEL: 40% of the time. Mileage or a additional travel stipend is paid if using your own vehicle.


 

SUMMARY OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Clinical Director oversees day to day clinical operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care while also managing administrative tasks related to clinical operations.

 

SCHEDULED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Conduct random weekly in person observations (clinical supervision) of assigned providers rendering services giving feedback/coaching/disciplinary action as needed and documenting supervision sessions.

  2. Complete mental health focused diagnostic assessments (90791) for clients initially and as needed at minimum every 6 months thereafter as assigned/scheduled.  Clients should not receive other mental health focused services on days an 90791 is completed.

  3. Review, correct and/or sign off on service document co-sign requests.

  4. Conduct regular audits to ensure counselors complete treatment plan reviews/update and lab work reviews/order updates per policy and checklist standards.

  5. Assist with interviewing and training new staff within your scope.

  6. Attend meeting with your supervisor weekly as scheduled.

  7. Responsible for carrying out services and supports that meet the clients medically necessary mental health needs reflected in the client's individual treatment & rehabilitation plan (ITRP) promoting independence, freedom of choice and overall wellness

  8. Collaborate with the client's therapist, nurse case manager, mental health case manager, psychiatrist and other persons involved in the client's care as needed

  9. Be available to clients in the event of a mental health crisis while on duty

  10. Carry out any other work related functions requested by the supervisor

  11. Participate in team meetings as scheduled


 

UNSCHEDULED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Participate in external and internal audits/surveys (CARF/CSA/OHCQ) as directed by the supervisor.

  2. Represent the organization in the community and build relationships with other healthcare providers, community organizations, and stakeholders.
  3. Participate in community outreach activities and educational programs to promote health and wellness.
  4. Participates in quality assurance and performance improvement plans by completing periodic audits or other activities to ensure regulatory compliance and/or improve service delivery.

  5. Assist the supervisor with any work-related tasks as requested.

  6. Collaborate with and serve as program POC for external treatment providers and outside agencies as needed.

  7. Responsible for following regulations of COMAR, CARF, any other regulatory body, and company policies/ procedures related to service delivery and documentation and co-facilitating orientation of all new hires to these as well.

  8. Support the maintenance of a safe environment by participating in training and drills as requested.

  9. Advise the supervisor on the development and implementation of protocols to better enhance the efficiency of day to day operations effecting change when approvals are made.

  10. Troubleshoot and abate any issues that could adversely affect the day-to-day operations.

  11. Report to the Supervisor daily and as requested. Report deviation of operational standards to CEO daily.

  12. Collaborate with department leaders, external landlords, vendors, utilities providers, housing related external entities and supervisees regularly as needed.

  13. Have knowledge of Policies and Procedures of the company.

  14. Maintain a working knowledge of COMAR as it pertains to assisted living and other residential regulations within the scope of services rendered by the company.

  15. Report to the supervisor via email when starting and ending service period if not using Company’s time keeping system.

  16. Check emails and company group texts at least every 30 minutes while on duty; respond accordingly.

 

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Regularly walk, stand or stoop; occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and regularly drive a motor vehicle.


WORKING CONDITIONS: Most work is performed in an office.

Qualifications

COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  1. Several years of clinical experience, with progressive leadership responsibilities.

  2. Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to motivate and inspire teams.

  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  4. Knowledge of healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.

  5. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives.


 

LEVEL OF EDUCATION/TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A master's degree in social work, counseling or a related discipline, and
  2. Either a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) approved to supervise by the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists; or
  3. A Licensed Certified Social Worker Clinical (LCSW-C) licensed by the Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners.
