CLASSIFICATION:  W-2.

WORK SCHEDULE:  24 hours per week.  1 full day (Thursdays of each week) in the 3310 Eastern Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21224 office from the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM to complete administrative / management / medical director duties as assigned.  2 full days in office to complete evaluation / medication management for scheduled clients from the hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.  Administrative tasks assigned for Thursdays are as follows:

COMPENSATION RANGE: Compensation ranges between $50.00 - $100.00 per hour; and is commensurate upon experience, expertise, company budget, and verified credentials.  

ANTICIPATED TRAVEL: 10% of the time. There is no additional compensation for travel.

SUMMARY OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:  To be successful in this role, the employee must be a self-starter, organized, competent in behavioral health psychiatric care and administration, and able to work well with others.  As a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive psychiatric care to patients. Your expertise in diagnosing mental health conditions, prescribing medications, and conducting therapy sessions will contribute to the overall well-being of individuals seeking mental health support. Your skills as nurse leadership will be essential in delivering high-quality care and clinical oversight. While on administrative in office duty, you will be responsible for overseeing the clinical operations for the OMHC and the SUD programs.

SCHEDULED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: .

1. On Thursdays week between the hours of 8am-5pm, be present in the company’s office and perform administrative / management duties as scheduled on that day.  During this office day, you assume the role of on-duty medical director. At the end of the office work day, write one end of shift report on administrative / management services rendered for the day.  Scheduled responsibilities for the day may include but are not limited to:

   1. Conduct peer reviews on other prescribers and document in ICANotes
   2. Participate in meetings with internal departments (HR department for department hiring needs / disciplinary action / commendations, scheduling department, patient access department for intake/discharge audits, PRP for referrals and clinical reviews)
   3. On an as needed basis, collaborate with external agencies on mutual client needs 
   4. Conduct representative sample batch reviews on documents created by clinical providers such as referrals to external agencies, individual treatment plans, all student intern notes, MH focused biopsychosocials, and SUD focused ASAM assessments
   5. Complete 90792 sessions with scheduled clients via telehealth at the assigned office
   6. Conduct meetings with clinical supervisors
   7. The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners is responsible for reviewing and accepting incoming lab results into ICANotes for at least one hour during their scheduled administrative time.

2. On one day per week, between the hours of 8am - 5pm, in the company’s office, conduct psychiatric focused evaluations, assessments and medication management to clients as scheduled.  Document services rendered in ICANotes during each session.  Code sessions with evaluation/management/psychotherapy treatment CPT codes as medically necessary.  Typically, 1-2 clients are scheduled per hour.

3. On one day per week, between the hours of 8am - 5pm, either in the company’s office, conduct addictions focused evaluations, assessments and medication management to clients as scheduled.  Document services rendered in ICANotes during each session.  Code sessions with evaluation/management/psychotherapy treatment CPT codes as medically necessary.  Typically, 1-2 clients are scheduled per hour.

UNSCHEDULED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Participate in external and internal audits/surveys (CARF/CSA/OHCQ) as directed by the supervisor.

2. Participates in quality assurance and performance improvement plans by completing periodic audits or other activities to ensure regulatory compliance and/or improve service delivery.

3. Assist the supervisor with any work-related tasks as requested.

4. Collaborate with and serve as program POC for external treatment providers and outside agencies as needed.

5. Responsible for following regulations of COMAR, CARF, any other regulatory body, and company policies/ procedures related to service delivery and documentation and co-facilitating orientation of all new hires to these as well.

6. Support the maintenance of a safe environment by participating in training and drills as requested.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Regularly walk, stand or stoop; occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and regularly drives a motor vehicle.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in an office, in client’s homes or in the community; Work exposes incumbent to contagious or infectious diseases; Work may expose incumbent to dangerous and volatile situations; which could result in bodily injury.

3. Prescribe and manage medications for patients with psychiatric conditions

4. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans

5. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care

6. Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options

7. Conduct therapy sessions with individuals, groups, or families as needed

LEVEL OF EDUCATION/TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must possess an active licensure with the Maryland Board of Nursing (MBON) as a Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric Mental Health (CRNP-PMH)

2. Must have a Master’s Degree in Nursing

3. Must possesses a psychiatric mental health certification from a professional board such as the ANCC

4. Must have a signed medical director affidavit on file with the company upon hire
