Description

Nuevo Camino is seeking a clinician who will be responsible for conducting assessments and providing individualized evidence-based treatment to children enrolled in the Unaccompanied Minors Program. The clinician will also be responsible for facilitating group and family therapy sessions.

 

  • Serves as role model for program participants.   

  • Remains sensitive and responsive to cultural differences of program participants and staff. 

  • Participates in in-service training and on-site workshops as required for professional growth and development.  Attends external training and workshops at the direction of management. 

  • Represents the organization both within and outside of the work environment in a manner that promotes the mission, vision and values of the agency.  Adheres to organizational mission, vision and values, in addition to all other agency policies and procedures. 

  • Conducts assessments, standardized screens and develops treatment plans.  Including 1x month session within the foster home.  

  • Participates in supervision and training to build professional growth, ensure accountability, and quality services for children in the Unaccompanied Minor Program 

  • Completes documentation in compliance with the Office of Mental Health, state, federal and HMO regulations. 

  • Provides crisis intervention services and safety plans as needed. 

  • Works collaboratively with collateral contacts, team members, and internal and external providers and documents all accordingly. 

  • Maintains a weekly schedule and completes all documentation. 

  • Participate in agency-wide and internal meetings, activities and trainings. 

Qualifications

  • New York State License in one of the following professions: 
  • Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW) 
  • Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW) 
  • Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) 
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)  
  • Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT). 
  • Have background in mental health counseling with children/youth  
  • Interest in professional growth and for working with children who have been impacted by immigration 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with team 
  • Ability to learn Electronic Health Record. 
  • HSVS requires all new hires to provide proof of vaccination prior to their start date. Employees who require an accommodation for medical or religious reasons should notify Human Resources.
