Job Summary

The Program Director is responsible for managing the overall operations and functioning of a city contracted prevention program that services a high risk population of children and families and is the primary liaison to the funding source and HSVS executive management as well as monitoring that contract obligations are in compliance.

About the Program

The Family Treatment Rehabilitation Program (FTR) located in Brooklyn NY, offers intensive preventive services to families at risk of removal of children to foster care due to neglect and abuse.The Family Treatment and Rehabilitation program has additional substance use and/or mental health concerns that impact the family. Risk factors for families served by the FTR program include mental health and substance use. Using Solution Based Casework, we actively work with families to develop plans that make them stronger, and keep them together and to address the Mental health and substance use issues impacting the family.  We encourage families to build connections to positive supports in their community who will help them sustain their progress and can be in place after our services discontinue. Our goal is to partner with families to keep them together while ensuring that children will be safely cared for. We utilize a collaborative team approach to provide services to families and ensure families progress through the three Treatment phases of FTR.

Job Responsibilities

  • Participate in all conferences as needed (Child Safety, service planning, ERC, Service terminations and be able to facilitate FTCs; as needed, especially for high risk cases.
  • Liaise with Community Based Organizations, Administration for Children's services,NYC Housing authority, Dept of Homeless Services, dept of education, Human resources administration, and any city agency as needed to ensure that appropriate services are offered to children and families being served.
  • Supervise the clinical supervisors and supports all staff in the program which includes staff hiring, monitoring ongoing professional development, participating, organizing and providing trainings to enhance professional development.
  • Plan and facilitate weekly staff meetings and case conferences with the clinical supervisors.
  • Assign referrals and assignment to workers is a requirement of this position as well as hiring and being available for consultations, facilitating staff meetings and ensuring that the program runs smoothly.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Minimum Master's degree;  licensed in social work or creative arts therapy or similar degree.
  • Previous experience with child welfare, clinical supervision and strong clinical skills as well as administrative skills required.
  • Good communication both written and verbal & organization skills
  • Familiar with Connections, PROMIS, Airtable & MS Office Suite
  • Solution Based Casework experience required
