HeartShare St. Vincent’s Services (HSVS) Nuevo Camino program is dedicated to providing 38 unaccompanied minors, ages

5-12, with a supportive, nurturing environment through transitional foster homes, daily education Monday - Friday, and

supportive wrap-around services in the Sunset Park section of New York City. Our program is rooted in ensuring that service

delivery is trauma informed, culturally appropriate, and tailored to the needs of each child while maintaining all program

requirements of ORR.

 

The Case Aide is primarily responsible for assisting Caseworkers with the documentation, client contact, and foster parent

contact processes. This candidate will be primarily responsible for providing transportation for clients and assisting with

scheduling appointments for clients. The Case Aide may also perform case management support services to children

including but not limited to reuniting the family, ensuring the child's safety, maintaining accurate and up-to-date

documentation of all provided services. Nuevo Camino is looking to hire staff to fill the following:

A Case Aide supports Caseworkers by assisting with documentation, scheduling, client transportation, and communication. They help ensure child safety, facilitate family reunification, and maintain accurate service records.

Key Essential Job Functions

  • Assist Caseworkers with documentation, client contact, and foster parent contact processes.
  • Provide transportation for clients.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments for clients.
  • Perform case management support services for children, including:
    • Reuniting families.
    • Ensuring child safety.
    • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of all services provided.

Schedule B: Tuesday – Saturday:  11pm – 7am

 

Qualifications

 

  • Associate’s degree in the behavioral sciences, human services or social services fields, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associates degree in Psychology, Human Services or other related field. required; Bachelor's Degree or bachelor’s in social work preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish, required 
  • Driver's License, required 
  • One year experience 
  • Must have an ability to provide excellent and compassionate customer service. Must be reliable with time sensitive deadlines and tasks.
  • Exercise a high level of confidentiality. Work well under pressure and adaptable to change.
  • Child welfare and/or case management experience is strongly encouraged.
  • Computer and typing skills sufficient to perform essential job functions.
  • Exhibit an ability to apply the principles of logic and critical thinking with problem solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Up to 25% travel required including escorting youth to family unifications by car and air. Typically requiring same day travel but may, on occasion, involve overnight stays.
