HeartShare St. Vincent’s Services (HSVS) Nuevo Camino program is dedicated to providing 38 unaccompanied minors, ages 5-12, with a supportive, nurturing environment through transitional foster homes, daily education Monday - Friday, and supportive wrap-around services in the Sunset Park section of New York City. Our program is rooted in ensuring that service delivery is trauma informed, culturally appropriate, and tailored to the needs of each child while maintaining all program requirements of ORR. 

 

Nuevo Camino is looking for a Program Safety Support, providing oversight of facility access points and program movement, monitoring live surveillance video of the facility 24/7, conducting facility walk throughs and permitting entrance to the facility. The Program Safety Support staff incorporates an observation and reporting approach to ensure the highest level of safety and security for all children, employees, contractors, and guests within the facility. Responsible for collaborating with leadership in developing, updating, implementing, and reviewing the effectiveness of the program’s compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines. 

Nuevo Camino is looking to hire staff to fill 1 shifts of 11pm- 7am with mandatory weekend coverage. 

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls.

  • Maintain a safe, respectful, hospitable, and professional atmosphere.

  • Conducts monthly security inspections and maintenance on security equipment to prevent a lapse in service.

  • Obtain and maintain fire safety certifications, conduct monthly fire drills, and inspect fire safety equipment for compliance with state regulation.

  • Coordinate with the leadership in preparing emergency preparedness standards for the facility.

  • Help maintain consistency in the delivery of services and with regards to programmatic policies.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested by leadership to support the facility.

  • Communicate with treatment team and program supervisors.

  • Attend mandatory staff meetings and regular supervision.

 

Qualifications

 

  •  High school diploma or GED (required and preferred).
  • 2 years of similar experience, with training in youth social services required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Driver's license required
  • Strong interest in working with immigrant youth.
  • Relevant experience in surveillance or security preferred.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination required (accommodations available for medical or religious reasons).
