Description

  • The Sr Recreational Specialist (SRS) is responsible for implementing person-centered services for each individual.  This includes ensuring implementation of the individual’s services by offering choice. In addition, the SRS is directly responsible for the individual’s overall physical and emotional well-being. Responsible for planning trips and activities based on the group’s preferences.  
  • Must be able to communicate professionally and positively with families and supervisor.  
  • Must have excellent written skills.  
  • Must be organized and submit documentation in a timely manner. 
  • Must be able to work weekends or evenings  
  • Clean driver's license with experience driving a 10 or 15 passenger van preferred  
  • One or more years’ experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.  

CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

High school diploma or GED

Preferred Education:

Associate's degree or equivalent

Driver's License Preferred 

Minimum 1 year in the field with experience

Requirements:

  • Must be able to work weekends or evenings  
  • Experience driving a 10 or 15 passenger van preferred, with clean driving record 
  • Responsible for planning trips and activities based on the group’s preferences. 
  • Must be able to communicate professionally and positively with families and supervisor.  
  • Must be organized and submit documentation in a timely manner
  • Good computer skills preferred
