Description

HSVS is seeking enthusiastic and responsible candidates to join the Youth Development and Community Programs Team

This position requires reliability, a positive attitude, and experience working with youth

Responsibilities

  • The Evening/After-School Coordinator is a part-time position responsible for supporting the Program Director and the Beacon Leadership Team by supervising after-school/evening programming as needed
  • The coordinator is responsible for facilitating and planning parent engagement and holiday events alongside the Beacon Leadership Team 
  • In addition to the responsibilities above, perform all other duties as assigned 
  • Uses positive approaches when handling difficult situations  
  • Avoids gossip and negative discussions  
  • Remains flexible and adapts to change
  • Serves as a role model for program participants and staff  
  • Abides by the dress code and professionally conduct oneself at all times
  • Participates in in-service training and on-site workshops as required for professional growth and development 
  • Attends external training and workshops at the direction of management
  • Represents the organization both within and outside of the work environment in a manner that promotes the mission, vision and values of the agency 
  • Personally,  adheres to organizational mission, vision and values, in addition to all other agency policies and procedures
  • Plans and implements daily instructional curriculum 
  • Maintains accurate activity and daily attendance records of all program participants. 
  • Assists in providing support to New Activity Specialists
  • Maintains accurate activity and daily attendance records of all program participants
  • Maintains positive communication with parents and staff
  • Assists in monitoring other Beacon activities as required by the Program Director
  • Assists in the provision of basic counseling services as needed (peer mediation, self-control, decision-making)
  • Accompanies youth on cultural and recreational field trips 
  • Assumes other duties as needed

Qualifications

  • HSVS is seeking enthusiastic and responsible candidates to join the Youth Development and Community Programs Team
  • This position requires reliability, a positive attitude, and experience working with youth
  • High School Diploma and equivalent
  • Two (2+) years experience working with youth
  • Passionate, driven, willingness to work with children, youth, and families
  • Ability to manage events and work collaboratively with the Beacon Leadership Team 
  • Ability to support New Activity Specialist
