Description

The Quality Improvement Specialist will work as part of the Business Analytics and Quality team to ensure that HeartShare Human Services of New York provides exceptional services to individuals, children and families. This role will work closely with the Assistant Director of Quality Improvement to meet goals in priority areas and build a responsive and effective system of quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gathering and analyzing qualitative and quantitative data through case record reviews facility reviews, interviews with program staff, and building and analyzing spreadsheets.
  • Synthesizing qualitative and quantitative findings into clear and actionable reports.
  • Administrative and clerical duties including assistance with large scale surveys, data entry, tracking ongoing projects, and coordinating fieldwork.
  • Communicating findings to program staff through continuous quality improvement practices such as trainings and presentations.
  • Identifying best practices in quality improvement and program evaluation through literature reviews.
  • Ensure data integrity for all demographic and program participant data.  Resolve conflicts in data values across program.  Continually monitor system for accuracy of data by performing quality assurance tests and monitoring data quality goals (e.g., errors, timeliness).
  • Assist with administering and maintaining end user accounts, permissions, passwords and access rights in Precision Care and other electronic health platforms as needed.
  • Assistance with special projects as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in social science, public policy, psychology or related field; master’s degree in a related field preferred
  • Experience applying quantitative and qualitative research methods
  • Experience or familiarity working with the NYC developmental disabilities services, foster care system, and/or behavioral health services
  • Comfort with managing large data sets
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Excel, SharePoint, Power BI, Forms)
  • Self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to travel to program sites within Brooklyn and Queens
