Description

HSVS is seeking enthusiastic and responsible candidates to join the Youth Development and Community Programs Team. The Evening/Weekend Coordinator is a part-time position responsible for supporting the Program Director by supervising evening and weekend programming. This position requires reliability, a positive attitude, and experience working with youth.

coordinator is responsible for the development of age-appropriate activities for  Evening and Weekend Programming. They will oversee evening and weekend program instructor(s) (Activity Specialist) to ensure they are creating quality activity plans, and implementing quality activities and programming for youth. The Coordinator is also responsible for facilitating and planning trips, events, workshops, and activities for youth, teens, and adults.


 

Qualifications

In addition to the responsibilities below, perform all other duties as assigned.

  • Uses positive approaches when handling difficult situations.  Avoids gossip and negative discussions.  Remains flexible and adapts to change.
  • Serves as a role model for program participants.  Abides by dress code.  Professionally conduct oneself at all times.
  • Remains sensitive and responsive to cultural differences of program participants and staff.
  • Participates in in-service training and on-site workshops as required for professional growth and development.  Attends external training and workshops at the direction of management.
  • Represents the organization both within and outside of the work environment in a manner that promotes the mission, vision, and values of the agency.  Personally, adheres to organizational mission, vision, and values, in addition to all other agency policies and procedures.
  • Support evening and weekend programming and ensure all participants are safe. 
  • Maintain safety throughout the facility and programming.
  • Interact positively and proactively with children, youth, and adults.
  • Contribute to the development of evening and weekend programming.
  • Greet, and offer tours, and program information to evening and weekend attendees.
  • Reinforce the values and commitment of HSVS and ensure that the Community Center is a safe and welcoming facility to those who enter.
  • Create and maintain a schedule with the Program Director.
  • Coordinate and implement outreach activities to increase evening/ weekend program enrollment, including community events and workshops.
  • Complete and document the closing procedure. Confirm with the supervisor when the building is empty, locked, and closed.
