HeartShare is seeking a full-time graphic designer with expertise, skills and experience to support a variety of organizational and project-based design needs. Reporting to the SVP of Strategy & Communication, this position will work in close collaboration with HeartShare’s development, communications, and programs teams.

This designer will be responsible for guiding the HeartShare brand into the future — through the development of a more streamlined, connected and consistent visual identity. Beyond support on day-to-day outbound communication needs as well program-specific marketing & outreach support, the designer will be the on-the-ground support for a universal brand overhaul. Working closely with the SVP and an outside design studio, the designer will work to roll out the updated identity across all touchpoints, with a major focus on digital — specifically a new website.

Organizational Design

  • Following lead of outside design agency, extend and implement core HeartShare brand design guidelines, ensuring that such guidelines are available to and followed by team members and partners.
  • Led website redesign project, designing all elements of the website, ensuring that accessibility and usability principles sit at the heart of digital experience. Extend brand identity work to all corners of the website. Will be main point of contact with development partner to ensure all design and interaction comes to life as intended. Marketing manager will be responsible for gathering copy content for website, external photographer/videographer will shoot as needed.
  • Manage the design and production of HeartShare core digital and print assets (pamphlets, business cards, postcards, posters, letterhead, development materials, etc.).
  • Design templates for email communications and social media: core newsletter layouts, email journey flow templates, Instagram content bucket templates.
  • Design visuals and templates for HeartShare special events, this includes but is not limited to the invite, fundraising material, in-venue branding, on-screen templates, event collateral.
  • Create a system for universal signage and an ideal rollout cadence. Work with outside vendors to align on styles and templates that programs can select from.

Program & Project-Based Design

  • Provide strategic visual concept expertise on specific HeartShare programs when more one-off and audience-specific design is required. This can include full stand-alone website and brand identities (few and far between), or simple brochures or social media one-offs
  • Lead the design and branding activities for digital campaigns, monthly giving programs or partnerships, to include developing key visuals (logo, mark and lead graphic) and flexible templates (primarily for social channels).
  • Assist in the development of project-specific pitch documents to solicit external funding from corporations and private foundations.
