Job Summary

HeartShare St. Vincent’s Services (HSVS) is seeking a trauma informed Division Director for the Enhanced Family Foster Care (EFFC) program located in Queens. The Division Director is expected to provide oversight to over 80 Children & Youth delivering services that aligns with HSVS and funders expectation. The Division Director supervises an intimate multi-disciplinary team within the division consisting of, Supervisors, Parent Advocates, Floating Case Planner & Administrative Staff. The Foster Care Division Director reports to the Associate Vice President of Foster Care.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop & implement strategies to maintain compliance with quality outcomes for Progress Motes, Family Assessment Service Plans, Preparing Youth for Adulthood, Permanency Hearing Reports, Incident reporting, and Family Team Conferences, etc.
  • Conduct random systems review to assess for child safety, risk, and ensure that documentation is consistent with agency and stakeholders standards (OCFS & ACS).
  • Work collaboratively with the leadership and the Data and Accountability (DAA) team to improve the administrative functions necessary to increase the PAMS/Score outcomes in the areas of safety, permanency, and wellbeing.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive professional relationships with all community stakeholders, facilitating regular communication with stakeholders and advising feedback to improve processes/services.
  • Participate in agency-wide training, and internal/external meetings with stakeholders.
  • Actively manage weekly census and assignment of new cases.
  • Review incident reports and manage time sensitive incidents through appropriate communication channels.
  • Provide scheduled weekly supervision to direct reports to ensure all deliverables are being met.
  • Evaluates staff performance, accurately assessing strengths and professional development areas.
  • Ensure staff receives required hours of professional development training annually. Conduct ongoing assessment of training needs and modify as needed.
  • Hire, Train and retain staff to for the positions required within the Division.  In the absence of a supervisor, provide coverage support.
  • Monitor site operations including but not limited to the distribution & reconciliation of metro cards, petty cash, and transportation needs.
  • Participate in the 24hr on call rotation schedule
     

 

 

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • A Master's Degree in Social Work or a related Human Services field is required.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in child welfare, preferably in foster care. At least two (2) years of supervisory/managerial experience.
  • Integrity, driven, and willingness to work with children, youth, families, foster families, and team-oriented setting.
  • Ability to travel within all 5 NYC boroughs and willingness to travel outside of the five boroughs (Long Island).
  • Willingness and demonstrated capacity to teach, train, and effectively manage/lead a team.
  • Ability to manage deadlines and handling crisis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook/Office, and preferably knowledge with Connections, CARA, and Safe Measures
  • Preferable familiarity with OCFS/ ACS regulations, & Family Court. 
  • Excellent strategic/critical thinking skills, leadership skills, and written/verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail
