Department Overview:

The mission of the Development Operations business unit is to develop, assess and maintain updated processes for maximum operating efficiencies within the Development Partnerships/Operations team.  The Development Operations business unit is accountable for the donor journey and stewardship of MDA donors to maximize the donor’s desired impact of giving.  Team members within the Development Operations business unit will work alongside and across all business units within the Development Partnerships team and is comprised of the Special Event Operations and Procurement teams.

 

Position Description:

The Specialist, Development Operations is accountable for supporting the development team in its objectives of maintaining relationships with current partners and building relationships with new funders/sponsors/partners through events, prospecting, scheduling, and databasing/tracking ongoing communications and engagement.  This specific Specialist role supports the Fire Fighter Partnerships team with revenue generation, pipeline development and Salesforce maintenance, with a strong focus on the operational logistics and accounting process for these events.  This position allows for specialization and cross training across multiple Resource Development departments.  This position reports to the Senior Project Manager, Development Operations.

What you’ll do:

  • Build and maintain relationships with external thought leaders and stakeholders to value their scheduling needs. and create a trusted relationship with MDA.
  • Proactively triage requests for responses from members of the department.
  • Assist in preparation of reports for management, and/or partners/clients.
  • Assist in preparation of PowerPoint presentations and event related materials.
  • Monitor internal deadlines and timelines for multiple ongoing projects.
  • Coordinate requests to IT and procurement.
  • Manage database of outreach, opportunities, campaigns and events and contacts in Salesforce.org.
  • Oversee operations for the team, client and/or program.
  • Collect and analyze data to provide financial reporting for top partners on a monthly/quarterly basis or as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with program regulations.
  • Work with the Account and Project leads to meet organizational and/or Client need.
  • Monitor program budgets as directed.
  • Closely collaborate with internal team members/departments to ensure optimal and clear communication efforts.
  • Prepare memos and invoices and perform other clerical tasks.
  • Confirm agreements with partners to meet sponsorship objectives, program specific funding and any business-related documents and work with finance on any contracts, SOWs and LOAs.
  • Process deposits in Salesforce, ROI, Donor Drive and OneCause. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary Range:

This position's salary range is $50,000 - $53,000 . Final offer amounts and levels are determined by multiple factors, including your experience, and may vary from the amounts listed above.

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required within a complex organization.
  • Experience with a CRM software, Salesforce.org use preferred.
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic, complex, fast-paced organization.
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with both external and internal stakeholders.
  • Must be able to multi-task, prioritize and organize assignments while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to take initiative, work independently, and be a team player.
  • Comfortable interacting with families/communities from diverse disability, cultural and economic backgrounds.
  • Ability to identify the information and reports necessary to assisting in supporting the Business Units success in managing accounts and client/partner relations.
