Description

Summary:

Under the direction of the Group Lead, the Drafter will independently complete moderately complex production designs through utilization of design standards and tools (computer aided design systems and CAD), often working outside the scope of the tools. Responsible for completing work efficiently, accurately and on time.

Essential Responsibilities:

Generate detailed part drawings, parts lists, and bills of materials for the design and release of electrical/electronic and wire/cable harness component design projects utilizing 2D and 3D CAD modeling software (Solidworks).
Collaborate with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs.
Utilize established processes and standards to effectively design parts, improve products, and enhance organizational capability.
Coordinate, collaborate, and communicate design solutions with manufacturing operations, and other engineering teams.
Adhere to all safety procedures including the use of personal protective equipment and navigating the plant with alert behavior.
All other duties as assigned by management, including travel to other PSI facilities.

Qualifications

Requirements:

High School Diploma or GED required, Associates degree in CAD Design or other Technical or Engineering related field preferred
Direct applicable work experience on a year-for-year basis which built competencies and subject matter expertise in CAD Design and Systems
Proficient abilities utilizing Solid Works (may substitute Creo, AutoCad, etc.) for 3D modelling, ideally with GD&T (Geometric Dimension & Tolerance)

Preferred Qualifications:

Aptitude and/or knowledge of electronic/electrical engine components and accessories
Experience conducting, interpreting, and documenting testing for design and system validation - DVP&R (Design Verification Plan & Report)
