The Technical Solution Specialist will work with customers and their requirements to develop supportable solutions from a technical perspective.  The applicant will coordinate with other functional areas, subcontractors, partners, and customers in finalizing requirements and addressing technical issues.

  • Ability to analyze RF communications requirements.
  • Collaborate with various departments such as the Systems Support Center, Dispatch Operations, Product Groups, System Engineering, System Integration, Network Services, and third-party contractors. 
  • Install, remove, program, and troubleshoot Motorola radio equipment, mobile computer equipment, mounts, cameras, and automatic vehicle location (AVL) equipment.
  • Assist with site cabling, such as Cat5, Cat6, Fiber, etc.
  • The supported systems encompass a wide range of technologies.
  • Development, design, evaluation, and modification of systems and architecture to meet customer requirements.
  • Participation in proposal reviews and contract negotiations
  • Provide coordination with the design and planning of the customer solutions using advanced technologies and provide technical support throughout the pre-sales phase of the project.
  • This position supports communications, including LAN, WAN, and telecommunications hardware and software.
  • Establishes and documents standards for network architecture and ensures total network integration.

Qualifications

  • Provide excellent interpersonal, negotiation, presentation, and communications skills, both orally and written.
  • Travel is required for customer meetings, system staging, system implementation, and training. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills are necessary.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
  • Ability to multi-task and focus on multiple projects at a time.
  • Ability to start projects and work through fruition.
  • Ability to attend and successfully complete ongoing training requirements.
  • Experience with IP schemes, routers, firewalls, VPNs, switches is a plus
  • Microwave communications experience a plus.
  • College degree with IT technology and/or engineering focus a plus.
