The Temporary School and Teacher Programs Associate will support K-12 programming at the Museum while the School and Teacher Programs Coordinator is out on maternity leave. This person assists and works closely with the Director of School and Teacher Programs Coordinator and the Tour Coordinator.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Welcomes K-12 school groups to the Museum and assists staff and docents with tours including checking in schools when they arrive, helping prepare the art classroom, storing lunches and assisting teachers with any questions.
- Creates daily templates with tour information for docents in advance of their tour.
- Along with a volunteer, prepares art supplies for upcoming Extended Tours.
- Teaches Extended Tours as needed in the Museum classroom.
- Buys art supplies for Extended Tours and creates check requests for all invoices.
- Assists the Director of School and Teacher Programs in preparing student artwork for the art exhibition in the Marden Community Gallery opening on Friday, January 17th. This may include tasks such as organizing images of the artwork, collecting and editing label information, and working with an outside vendor for preparing the artwork.
- Assists in the planning and execution of the opening reception for Marden Community Gallery.
- Assists in the planning and execution of the teacher professional development workshop on November 8th.
- Assists with the planning of the Teacher Advisory Council meetings.
- Participates in docent continuing education sessions and all-staff education meetings.
- Other administrative tasks as needed.
