The Grove’s Junior High Ministry exists to introduce students to Jesus and shepherd them in their walk with Him. The Junior High Ministry Intern is a paid internship position for those who are looking for tangible ministry experience and opportunities. The internship is designed to give hands-on experience and cultivate competence in a broad range of youth ministry responsibilities. While in this role, the individual will be trained and better equipped for future leadership roles. However, there is no guarantee of employment at The Grove, or outside The Grove, as a result of this internship.
Reports to: Junior High Ministry Pastor
Works with: Junior High Ministry team, volunteers, leaders, parents
Works: Part-time, approximately 10 hours per week, exempt
MINISTRY EXPERIENCE & LEADERSHIP – 60%
- Serve as part of the Junior High Ministry leadership team, which crafts vision, mission and values of Junior High Ministry.
- Attend weekly Junior High leadership meetings.
- Assist with the planning and execution of weekend and Wednesday night services.
- Assist with the planning and execution of Junior High events, such as Summer Camp and mission trips.
- Assist with other week-to-week ministry responsibilities, such as: organizing and communicating with leaders, posting on social media, and organizing supplies.
- Intentionally develop students in their walks with Jesus and model what biblical discipleship looks like to our volunteers.
- Give messages at services and events, as needed.
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT– 30%
- Holistically grow in areas such as: learning specific ministry skills, developing a personal philosophy of ministry, and Christ-like character.
- Regularly meet with Junior High Pastor for discipleship and development.
OTHER MINISTRY– 10%
- Cultivate intimacy with God and growth in Christ-like character through personal and corporate spiritual disciplines.
- Attend Junior High Ministry leadership team meetings, church all-staff meetings, devotions and trainings, as available.
