American Academy (AA) has an opening for a full-time Assistant to the Student Support Services (SSS) Director for the 2025-26 school year. The Assistant to SSS Director reports to the Director of SSS and is responsible for scheduling, assisting with filing and organization, assisting with special projects, coordinating department events and assisting with the various facets of the department.
Responsibilities:
Adhere to the mission and philosophy of American Academy with enthusiasm, commitment, and integrity
Uphold and model American Academy Manners and Character Program
Scheduling: Manage calendars for the Director of SSS; as well as calendars for the entire SSS department.
Organization: Assist with filing, communication, and other organizational tasks as needed; Take and distribute notes for meetings as needed; Assist with correspondence as needed
Special Projects: Perform other tasks and projects as assigned by the Director of SSS
Event Coordination: Coordinate team events
Collaborate with Assistant to Principals for interdepartmental communication
Positive Contribution to School Environment: Provide timely and clear communication; Respond to staff and parent emails within 48 hours; Demonstrate initiative in personal achievements and team support; Maintain integrity with respect to hierarchy in the organization and respect for confidentiality; Demonstrate professionalism; Demonstrate positive relationships with colleagues
Requirements:
High School graduate or equivalent; Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Minimum job-related experience; Experience in an educational environment preferred
Strong communication skills
Detail oriented; Able to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast paced environment with changing priorities
Office and Computer skills: word processing/spreadsheets, email and calendar (Google)
