Elmbrook Church is a non-denominational, intergenerational, multi-site church excited about the life change possible in Christ. Elmbrook’s mission is to help members become Rooted in Jesus Christ and Released to His mission. This role supports the Discipleship team staff and volunteer leaders for adult and student ministries, facilitating engagement in Discipleship groups across various campuses and age groups. The Coordinator manages key communication channels, handles event logistics, and collaborates with various church departments to ensure effective operation and promotion of discipleship initiatives.

Major Responsibilities

  • Discipleship Culture: Actively supports and reinforces Elmbrook's vision of equipping disciples who make disciples by assisting staff, volunteers, and community members in implementing and promoting discipleship initiatives. Plays a key role in facilitating communication and resources that champion this vision across all levels of the church community.
  • Staff and Volunteer Support: Provide administrative and logistical support to the Adult and Student Discipleship team staff and volunteer leaders.
  • Resource Management: Organize, maintain, and distribute age-appropriate resources for Adult and Student Discipleship groups.
  • Communication Management:
    • Oversee and update discipleship-related content on the church website
    • Manage social media accounts for discipleship ministries
    • Coordinate the creation and distribution of print materials
    • Collaborate with design and production teams to develop effective communication materials
  • Event and Travel Logistics: Manages the logistical aspects of discipleship-related events, coordinating with the Building Services, Administration, and Production teams. Along with the department lead, arranges travel to conferences and/or mission trips.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate records of discipleship group participation, leader information, and program effectiveness.
  • Communication Liaison: Serve as a key point of contact between Discipleship team staff, volunteer leaders, and group participants for both adult and student ministries.
  • Administrative Support: Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, correspondence, and report generation for the Adult and Student Discipleship teams.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with Communications, Design, Building Services, Administration, and Production teams to ensure seamless execution and promotion of discipleship initiatives and events.
  • Serves on Student & Adult Discipleship Teams: Works and collaborates with Student & Adult Discipleship Team staff in developing and implementing Discipleship initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrates a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a deep love for God’s word.
  • Active participant or member of Elmbrook church who supports and endorses the statement of faith, core values, and vision.
  • Embodies a servant-hearted attitude, consistently upholding Elmbrook's staff values of integrity and humility in all interactions and responsibilities.
  • Affirms and practices Elmbrook’s Genetics as expected for all staff: inspiration, integrity, innovation, intent, inquisitiveness, insistence, and interdependence.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and coordinate with multiple departments.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to quickly learn and master new software applications and digital tools as needed for church operations and communication.

Skills and Experience

Experience in church administration, communication management, or similar supportive roles. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.

Employment Information

This position is part-time, hourly, and classified as non-exempt

25-29 hours/week.   Evening/weekend time on occasion, depending on ministry events.

Salary – dependent on experience, skills & education

Benefits Package

Paid Time Off (PTO) – Part-time employees who are scheduled to work more than 10 hours per week are eligible to earn PTO.  PTO is accrued on a calendar year basis.  Refer to the Staff Handbook for specific details. 

 

403b – Employees are eligible to participate in the 403b pension plan if they are scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week.  Entry dates for the 403b plan are the first of the month following the date of hire.  Elmbrook will match up to 3% on an employee's first anniversary.

 

Holidays – Part-time employees who are scheduled to work more than 10 hours per week are eligible for holiday pay if the holiday falls on their normal scheduled workday. Refer to the Staff Handbook for specific details.

Reporting Structure

This position reports to the Discipleship Ministries Pastor and serves on the Discipleship Ministries Team.
