Knowledge of:
- Methods of maintaining, cleaning and preserving a variety of surfaces such as walls, carpeting, glass, tile and wood
- Proper use, handling and disposal of a wide range of chemicals according to state and federal regulations
- General security and safety practices
- Handling and disposal of blood borne pathogens with care
- Lawn care and snow removal equipment and techniques
- Plumbing and lighting fixtures and related maintenance repairs
Education & Experience:
Possess any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
- One year of custodial experience in a school setting is preferred.
- General experience with electricity, plumbing and building equipment is a plus
License or Certificate:
- Possess a valid Wisconsin driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Special Requirements:
- Commitment to living out discipleship attributes, connecting, gathering, serving, giving and multiplying.
- Perform physical activities, such as, but not limited to, lifting heavy items (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), bending, standing, climbing or walking.
- Work safely in an environment containing a variety of chemicals, construction materials, dust and noise
- Work under inclement weather conditions (i.e. snow removal).
- Possess some general mechanical aptitude or demonstrate a willingness to learn new technical skills
Employment Information
This position is full-time, hourly and classified as nonexempt, 40 hours/week

Paid Time Off (PTO) – Full-time employees are eligible to earn PTO. PTO is accrued on a calendar year basis. Refer to the Staff Handbook for specific details.
403b – Employees are eligible to participate in the 403b pension plan if they are scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week. Entry dates for the 403b plan is the first of the month following the date of hire. On an employee’s first anniversary, Elmbrook will match up to 2%.

The Facilities Specialist will be accountable and report directly to the Facilities Director of Elmbrook Church.
