Job Description
Job Title: Law Enforcement Data Analyst
Supervisor: Chief Strategy Officer
Summary: The Law Enforcement Data Analyst is responsible for reviewing child crime cases reported to law enforcement, determining which cases meet criteria, and completing analysis and reports of this data.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related criminal justice field, preferred
- 2 years’ experience managing databases and analyzing data (analyzing crime data, preferred)
- Intermediate to advanced skills using Microsoft Excel
- Ability to translate data into visually appealing and user-friendly reports
- Ability to analyze and interpret crime data
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with diverse groups/disciplines in stressful settings
- Ability to develop professional relationships and build relationships with others
- Ability to work in highly structured and unstructured settings
- Ability to work within complex criminal justice systems
- Ability to problem solve with a strong attention to detail
Job Tasks:
- Works with law enforcement partners to determine the best methods for data sharing and collaboration
- Works with law enforcement partners to identify the child crime cases that meet criteria for services at the Center; determines what percentage of those cases received relevant services, analyzes reasons and identifies barriers and challenges for those cases that did not receive services
- Collaborates with law enforcement partners to foster relationships and better understand challenges faced
- Implements long-term data sharing agreements and processes that will allow for more efficient and effective collaboration
- Establishes procedures where Center staff can review law enforcement reports of alleged crimes against children to assist in identifying which cases meet criteria and reaching out to partners to begin scheduling
- Maintains data integrity by running compliance checks, proactively seeking out data inconsistencies and errors, and working with team members to resolve problems
- Creates and updates data training guides and definition documents created by the Center
- Participates in monthly Law Enforcement Assessment and Planning meetings and supports project activities
- Supports a culture of evaluation and learning by consistently communicating with all team members to assist them in understanding and using data
- Follows Center policies and procedures at all times
- Maintains a comprehensive knowledge of the mission, core values and vision of the organization and the children’s advocacy model
- Represents the organization and speaks at community events, as requested
- Conducts Center tours, as requested
- Attends monthly staff meetings and other community meetings, as assigned
- Provides program support for forensic, therapy and medical cases, as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
